Writing Celebration and Digital Storytelling

Biography Poster Celebration- Friday, January 27th 9:10 AM

You are all invited to our PBL (project based learning) biography poster celebration.  Our 4th grade buddies who helped us with the typing of the posters will be attending as well so if you are not able to make it please do not worry.  We will have a full house:) The children will be explaining how we as a class decided to solve a problem at Hutchings Elementary using PBL.

Storybird - Digital Story Writing

 We have begun to learn a new way to tell a story using the online tool Storybird.  Your child will be bringing home his or her login information today.

The children can use images by artists to create a story.  This is just another example of integrating technology into our classroom.  Each Friday we use the Chromebooks for different activities.  We have used the Raz-Kids, Xtra math, Everyday Math (EDM) and now we are introducing Storybird.  I am amazed at the amount of growth the children have had since the beginning of the year! When we started out the did not know how to unplug a Chrombook from the cart.  Now they are experts at logging in, and using them.  What an amazing amount of growth.
