Rain Gauge: Tool to Measure The Rain
Today the children began learning about different tools that meteorologists use. Due to the weather that we are having today we decided it was the perfect time to build a tool to measure our rain fall. The children assembled rain gauges in class. We then took them outside and left them there for a few hours. When we collected our gauges we were amazed at the amount of rain we had collected! The children will bring their rain gauges home today. Feel free to use them to collect and measure. Please ask them... "How did you use this weather tool?"

Nightly Reading - Thank You!
Each student is making many gains already in reading this year! I am so impressed with all of the at home support with the baggie book reading. I had students today (very proudly) comparing the number of baggie words that he or she could read. This is so exciting to see the pride they have in their growing ability. I have included a reference chart for some of my reading groups. If your child has a zoo phonics alphabet chart I would like him or her to practice what the letter sounds are each night before reading the baggie book. Here is a short video that you can play for your child while he or she recites the zoo phonics alphabet chart.

Thank you for your continued support! If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask.
