Biography Poster Updates
This week we have been working on drafting B2 (Brilliant Beginnings) and M2 (Mighty Middles). For many of the students this type of informational writing is a first time experience. They are learning in class and reading groups the differences between fiction and non fiction. I have taught lessons and modeled in class what this may look like for a staff member. We have watched the following videos to help with organizing our thoughts and putting them in the correct order.

We have been busy gathering our facts through our interviews and sorting our facts by topic. Now we are working on writing our facts in sentences by topic. This is a big process and the children are doing a wonderful task! If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.
Tomorrow is Grinch Day. We will be focusing on the story How the Grinch Stole Christmas. We will be looking at the theme of the story and the different elements of the book. This is a wonderful way for the children to be able to retell a story using all of the elements. See the G.O. (graphic organizer) Map below for all the different elements in a fiction piece of writing.
