Math Assessments
Parents today your child will be bringing home his or her unit 5 math assessment. Remember your child may fix mistakes for half credit. This review is a great example of the growth mindset and learning from our mistakes.
Math Journal - Keep at Home for Extra Practice
Our math program is filled with resources. One of which is the paper math journal. It is not intended to be used page by page daily. It is the discretion of the teacher which pages are completed. As we have implemented the online portion in our classroom this year you will notice that less of the paper pages are filled in. Using the EMD online site we have the ability to do these pages electronically as a class. Any pages that are not complete feel free to do at home if you wish. These journals do NOT need to be returned to school. Thank you for your ongoing support!
Unit 6 Math - Addition Fact Strategies
We have begun unit 6 with looking at telling time to the nearest hour using the short hour hand.

Today we learned to tell time using only the hour hand. We used words like a little before or a little after a certain time.
The children had to move the hour hand on their clock to show that time!

New Science Kit - Sorting Things Out
We have begun our new science kit for the quarter. The focus is on physical science. We will spend the first few weeks looking at attributes of matter and naming / describing / and sorting matter.
