Happy 2017! It is so wonderful to be back together with all the students. It was fun to hear all their stories during our sharing circle and connections today.
Writing
We have had a fun filled day back to school. We did a fun "How-to" writing this morning. We focused on the transitional words:First
Next
Then
Last
We used these words to give directions on "How To Catch A Snowflake". Next time you are in the building stop to take a look at the students wonderful work!
Math
Today we began unit 5 - Place Value and Comparisons. We practiced reading and building numbers today using base 10 blocks. Please remember each days lesson is on the EDM online site. If you ever have any questions please log in.

Science
This week and next we will be finishing our semester long science kit: "Weather Watchers".
We are focusing on comparing and contrasting Summer and Winter (we used a Venn Diagram today). As well as looking into the weather in the spring.
We will change our area of study from earth science to physical science for 3rd quarter.
